This policy applies to all Club members and its paid coaches
Both Hadleigh Cricket Club (HCC) and the ECB are keen to promote positive images of individuals playing cricket and does not wish to prevent live streaming, video recording, photography or any other form of capture or use of audio-visual materials (‘Streams, Photos and Recordings). However, HCC & ECB wishes to ensure that Streams, Photos and Recordings within cricket are captured and used appropriately.
HCC wish to utilise video / live streaming / photographs for the following reasons:
- Coaching and player development
- Allowing fans of the clubs playing who are not able to physically attend to watch the game via the livestream
The introduction of proportionate controls on the use of photographic equipment (cameras, and videos, including mobile phones) and the use of social media is part of general data protection and safeguarding good practice in a club.
HCC have nominated two contacts for being responsible for the Streams, Photos and Recordings:
Their contact details can be found on the club web site under ‘Key Contacts’.
- Other persons, organisations, or businesses, who may have an interest in photographing young players during Cricket activities, will be made aware of this policy, and asked to respect it.
- The Club will NOT allow members or coaches to photograph, video or make other images of young players WITHOUT the prior WRITTEN CONSENT of the Parent/Carer. Additionally, if aged 12 years or over the young player should also provide written consent.
- Where the Club is given advance notice of a Press interest in activities involving young players, parents/carers will be notified in advance and given the opportunity to give consent for images of their young players to be used. The Press will be asked by the Club not to use images of young players without prior written consent having been received from parents/carers.
- The Club will make reasonable efforts to ensure images of young players are used solely for the purposes of promoting and celebrating the activities of the Club which may be promoted via social media e.g. Facebook.
- Coaches may use videos and video analysis to help the young players in their cricket progression. The videos will be kept on a secure iPad which is password protected and video files will only be available for Level 2 coaches. The iPad will be securely stored between training sessions.
- The Club will accept no liability for images of young players obtained from outside the ground.
- Live streaming and Highlights show will be managed using the PCS pro system. The recordings will be made from a static camera which will show an angled view of the game. This will not show recordings from behind the bowler’s arm. The highlights show will consist of Wickets taken, boundaries scored and any notable shots.
- The Two Counties League have been consulted (League Secretary Rick Jones 22/1/22) and approve of the club using live stream/Highlights
- The Suffolk umpires panel have been consulted (Appointment’s secretary Mel Phair 22/1/22) All umpires appointed to officiate Hadleigh home games will inform the Club no later than 48 hrs before the game if they DO NOT wish to be filmed.
- Where HCC plan to utilise live streaming, photographing or recording a match, prior approval from the opposition team will be sought at least 48 hrs before the fixture. Where teams, and umpires indicate they object, the streaming / photographing / recording will not take place.
- Spectators and any other persons attending the match or event will be made aware that live streaming, photography and/or audio-visual recording will be taking place. HCC has displayed a clear and prominent notice.
- Images will only be kept for the playing season in which they have been recorded.
